The Last of the Hawaii and Iceland Series paintings

The last of the Hawaii and Iceland series. Here are sizes and prices and all the prices reflect a 20% reduction from the original prices.
First, the Hawaii series.
During an artists' residency in Hawaii, I was inspired by the magnificent colors of my surroundings. I originally did the work in acrylic and then came back home to work in oils. I started adding beeswax to pure pigment to make my own paints but also added a beeswax mixture to commercial paints to give it a matteness I love in paintings.

This is what is left from the Iceland series: the inspiration comes from water droplets on the windshield of the rental car. After a rainy hike to a glacier, I was changing out of my wet things when the light and the water drops created little universes of color. I loved how they were bunched together and how luminescent they were. I wanted to recreate the feel and the beauty of that moment. All the work was done in acrylic instead of oil because acrylic had the right viscosity for making the universes.
