I asked one of my art colleagues for inspiration for a color field painting.   One of the photographers in the group said "orange red".  I responded to that choice because I don't often use red or orange.  I still have tubes of cadmium red and orange from almost 10 years ago!  I go through blues, yellows, greens and especially whites frequently but not reds, oranges, or blacks.  Black from a tube looks a little lifeless and I would rather make up something that has the darkness of black without being dead.  I named this after the person who suggested the color.  I have since asked my other colleagues for inspiration and received two very interesting ideas.  I love having somewhere to go!
