Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden

When you buy a ticket to the Tate St. Ives, you have the option of purchasing an additional ticket to the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden for just a little bit more so we did.  A short walk from the Tate (after getting a little lost!) and we at Trewyn Studio.  What a beautiful space.

The works on display feature a range of materials and objects in either, stone, bronze or wood.

Bits of stone ready for sculpting

The garden featured bronzes made specifically for this environment.

A lovely blue wall to reflect the light

looking through the window to see the stones on the roof

Did Hepworth derive inspiration from the Cornwall environments?  The next  day,we walked in search of Men An Tor, a grouping of rocks thought to be from the  Bronze Age.

Men An Tor

Couldn't get a great shot because of the horses but stones like these might have been inspiration to Hepworth.
Here is a clearer image...

Also in the same area,  an old tin mining building...

We saw a very cool stone circle.
And after our little walk, we treated ourselves to a cream tea at a nearby farmhouse.  It was glorious!

And, then there were more interesting bits of stone.
