24" X 30" commission work progress
The process so far, this after more than 10 layers of paint. Here are the paintings at the beginning of the day, and at the end. I am doing 2 because I like giving the client a choice. The client's idea is to use the color of the front door as an accent line. She is drawn to subdued colors and so showing her these might concern her. They will become much more subdued, I promise!
And my inspirations for the colors that will be in the background - I am looking for a pale green for one of the paintings.

A Japanese tea ceremony bowl - colors that might work for the second painting. Though, I am not sure how a subdued blue will work with that orange.
