Open Studios at Francisco Studios is this weekend (Nov 2 & 3) featuring the work of 5 artists (including me). Here is our work grouped together at
ArtSpan's Exhibition at SOMArts. Unfortunately, we are stuck in the far corner in the back room but it doesn't happen every year.

Furniture maker
Todd Laby makes beautifully constructed wood sculptures. His work is seen in the above image, middle bottom. It is quite exquisite. Below, you can see the detail that goes into his work.

The work of
Audrey Heller is always a crowd pleaser. Her photographs are whimsical, wonderfully arranged and her work is always featured in the annual ArtSpan auction. She has quite a loyal following. Her piece in the current exhibition was sold. Better get to her Open Studio this weekend to score on one or more of her photographs.

Gordon Pagnello is one of the newer members to join the Francisco Studios family but he is not new to painting and drawing. He is a master draughtsman as you can see from his "Estate Sales" work.

David Hughes' studio is across from mine and unfortunately, I only see him pretty much once a year at Open Studios time. He has a full time job (actually, I think he has a more than full time job) so I don't see him unless I come at night or on the weekends. He is dedicated and is always pushing the work. However, because he is so busy, he hasn't spent much time updating his website or the ArtSpan info page. His current work is seen in the image above, just left of Todd's wood piece. He will most likely show some of his other sculptural pieces seen below.

I feel fortunate that I share the space with hard working, serious artists.
Later this week, I will post the work I will be showing at my Open Studios.
