Iceland Day 6
Hike to the Vatnajokull glacier
Our most adventurous day yet because we wanted to see the glacier up close without having to pay someone to take us there in a 4 wheel drive vehicle. That means that we would have to figure out the path there since there weren't any designated trails and we would have to strategize the best way to cross streams.
On our way back, the view was still beautiful.
So magical, elves must live here.
After last night's langostine feast, we still wanted to eat it again but without having to pay the huge price. We found the local dive on the harbor and ate the most delicious langostine bagette - our final langostine dinner.

The beginning of our trail - glacier in the distance
There was a lot of scrambling up through the brush but it smelled so wonderful, I didn't mind. Plus, we saw
reindeer passing through.
and then, we arrived at the glacier. We couldn't get up close because it can be dangerous. We ate our lunch at a safe distance, on a comfy rock. Note the little yellow rafts in the lower right corner. The tan area is the lagoon.
