Philip Jones Griffiths

I am always looking for photos that look like either a drawing or a painting.  I think this photo by Philip Jones Griffiths in the March 31, 2013 issue of the NY Times looks like an amazing graphite drawing.
I was sad to read that Philip Jones Griffiths passed away in 2008.  He took some amazing photographs during the  Vietnam War.
A London newspaper editor once told him to remember to answer the five basic questions in every photo caption — who, what, why, where and when. Mr. Griffiths said the first two and last two struck him as merely perfunctory. ā€œIt’s the one in the middle that counts,ā€ he said. ā€œTo me that’s our task, to say ā€˜Why?'
I agree wholeheartedly.
