Marriage for All in France

This photo (NY Times) reminded me so much of the Romantic period of painting especially the paintings of Eugene Delacroix.  There is so much going on in this photo - the people are passionate and together with the drapery and movement of the sign, reminds me of a Delacroix painting.  Here, security personnel are scuffling with same-sex marriage opponents as the lower house of Parliament voted to give gay couples the right to wed and to adopt.

"Death of Sardanapalus"

"Liberty Leading the People"
I wonder how Monsieur Delacroix would commemorate this event?
