Dove Ad about Women's Self Image
Ad about women's self image creates a sensation - article in the NYTimes
Despite the corniness of the video, the message is strong. A forensic artist creates a portrait of the sitter only by asking the sitter to describe herself. Gil Zamora does the work behind a curtain and doesn't look at the subject. Then, another person who gets to know the sitter describes her verbally and the two different portrait results are telling.
I teared up thinking about how women can be so hard on themselves. It is amazing that Zamora can come up with a likeness from just verbal descriptions.
I also teared up after I watched the parody of the above sketch, but from laughter.
