Maxfield's at the Palace Hotel

I was very disappointed to read last Saturday that the Palace Hotel was selling Maxfield Parrish's "Pied Piper" but
today, it seems that because of a very vocal public outcry, the powers that be have decided not to auction it off. The painting may not return to it's original location but somewhere "protected". It seems there could be a way to protect it while still remaining as the focal point of this bar.

I love old photos of San Francisco.
One of my definitions of a perfect day is spending time at SFMOMA and walking over to the Palace Hotel to have a cocktail in this wonderful bar. Somehow, a martini tastes so much better in a beautiful environment.
