ODC Theater, among the West Coast’s premier venues for the contemporary performing arts, announces a call for proposals for a series of six original posters for its 2013 season. One visual artist will be commissioned to create the poster series and will be awarded a cash prize of $3000 in addition to significant exposure.
ODC Theater’s 2013 poster series aims to capture and communicate the essence of each of its artists’ presentations as well as to pique the curiosity of local arts enthusiasts. We are open to any and all aesthetic styles. ODC Theater is characterized by forward-thinking, boundary pushing dance, music and theater. A captivating end product should feel active, engaging, kinetic and of the moment.
The winning artist will be asked to create six stylistically similar poster designs and mirroring campaign materials between late December 2012 and December 2013. Any and all visual media forms including graphic design, painting, drawing, photography, collage, and screen printing are accepted so long as they can be reproduced as a PDF on an off-set printer. Each poster must also be formatted for online ads, postcards, and kiosks in both vertical and horizontal formats. The poster series will be rolled out throughout 2013. In addition to appearing in online promotions and print materials, posters will be displayed on ODC’s two-building campus which hosts close to 25,000 people annually.
