As soon as i decided to accept the commission, I started straight away with priming my "sketch" canvases. The chosen artists have to present 3 sketches at a community meeting on Sept 11. Since we have to present a 2 ft X 4 ft piece during the
Excelsior Art and Music Festival, I thought I would do all my preliminary sketches at this scale. Also, I imagine it would be difficult to get an idea of how one's sketch would scale up. At least at this size, I get a better idea than something at 24 in X 36 in. I am working on 3 different ideas and I am hoping to come up with 2 more in order to choose the 3 strongest pieces.
