Portraits of Survivors

The New York Times featured portraits of some of the survivors of the Japanese earthquake/tsunami/nuclear meltdown and I love the quiet nature of the photos. The heads were almost discombobulated so that the focus is just on the face. And the faces of these survivors were beautiful, sometimes defiant, and full of character.  Article by Min Jin Lee, photos by Denis Rouvre.

This one in particular looked like a Noh mask.
