Gaza photo by Uriel Sinai

Every so often, I am struck by the beauty of photographs taken during difficult times.  This is an example by Uriel Sinai of schoolgirls in Israel taking cover during a rocket attack.  It reminds me of  a classically
posed painting and the whole composition is engaging.  I saw the photo in the NY Times and was in black and white which I prefer.  The composition reminds me of Courbet's "Burial at Ornans" with figures placed in a rhythm and the bit of white bringing the eye across the canvas.
