The annual ArtSpan Open Studios is coming up October. Every weekend during that month, several areas of San Francisco will be featured with artists opening up their homes, studios, garages, or public space to show their work. October is a great month in San Francisco when the weather is at its best and there is so much art, dance, music going on.

For the first time, i will be offering credit card sales through squareup.com, which allows one to use a smartphone to handle the transactions. You download their app for free, they send you a special free card reader for your mobile device. When you swipe cards with Square, the charge is 2.75%. If you enter credit card numbers manually, Square costs 3.5% + 15¢ per transaction.
