best friend

This is the latest painting i've been working on partly inspired by my husband who thought that a pink painting we saw at MoMA NY was hideous. To which i said that every color has a best friend and maybe i should do a pink painting. I haven't been recording every painting i've been doing in the studio but i was surprised as i left the studio and glanced once more at this piece at how cheerful it looked. I was surprised - i have not been cheerful because of personal issues. In fact, i've been downright grumpy!
And pink's best friend? - i think pink has a couple of great friends such as a certain warm gray (ultramarine blue + cadium red + white), and yellow green. This painting is not quite done - i might add a quinacridone magenta, more layers of cadium red + yellow ochre + white, grays and greens.
