Exit Through the Gift Shop
I saw the film "Exit Through the Gift Shop" which i thought was a film about Banksy. Banksy is the director of the film and is in the film but it is about Thierry Guetta (the New York Times calls him "amiable", i think he is annoying) who by luck (although luck favors the prepared it is said) films some of the graffiti world's most accomlished artists. He films everything from the mundane and personal to the more interesting artists in action. However, the film takes an interesting twist as more is revealed and one wonders if this is another Banksy project of confounding what is real. Is it a commentary about how frivolous and superficial the art world is? It has been nominated for an Academy Award which begs the question... who will be representing the film at the ceremony? Great film with a great title.
