Request for Qualifications: 2011/2012 Prequalified Artist Pool

Application Deadline: Tuesday, January 18, 2011, 5:00 PM (PST).
Eligibility: Professional practicing artists or artist teams residing in the Western States (Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.

ARTIST SELECTION PROCESS
Arts Commission staff shall screen applicants for minimum qualifications prior to presentation to the selection panel based upon the following criteria:
Demonstrated quality of past artwork as represented in the applicant’s submitted images
Artist’s professional experience as detailed in the applicant’s resume
The Arts Commission will convene a selection panel comprised of arts professionals and a representative of the Arts Commission to review and rank the applicants’ qualifications and select the highest ranking artists for inclusion in the 2011/2012 PREQUALIFIED ARTIST POOL. The list of artists selected for inclusion in the prequalified pool shall be approved by the Arts Commission.
The 2011/2012 PREQUALIFIED ARTIST POOL will be used by the Public Art staff to identify qualified applicants for each project opportunity, based on geographic restrictions (if any), and appropriateness of the artist’s media and experience for specific project requirements. An ad-hoc selection panel will be convened for each project to review the qualified candidates and make selection recommendations. The panel’s recommendation will be forwarded to the Arts Commission for final approval.
