Slate Art and Design reception
I went to an art reception at Slate Art and Design Saturday night. First of all, the neighborhood, 4700 block of Telegraph (Temescal district in Oakland) was a vision of relaxed urban living. There was music in the air, people gathered on the sidewalk, others strolling leisurely, and the weather was very pleasant. There appeared to be some interesting restaurants and parking was not a problem. Slate has an inviting exterior and owner and curator Danielle Fox was on hand at this well attended reception. She enthusiastically worked the room, an important trait for a gallery owner. I went specifically to see the work of Justine Lo, a friend from our SFAI days.
