2011 Hearts in San Francisco

San Francisco General Hospital Foundation accepting artist submissions for
2011 HEARTS IN SAN FRANCISCO
**Entry Forms Now Available – Deadline August 25, 2010**
The project is part of the annual Heroes & Hearts Luncheon, an event benefiting the Foundation that celebrates artistic expression and honors local heroes who help give San Francisco its heart. Each year, a new crop of artists create both large (5’ tall x 5’9” wide x 3’3” deep) and table top-sized (14” tall x 17” wide x 8” deep) hearts that are sold or auctioned off during the luncheon. The large hearts remain on display in Union Square and other locations throughout the summer before being delivered to their owners. Proceeds from the auction benefit SFGHF and its efforts to fund projects that enhance patient care and comfort at San Francisco General Hospital & Trauma Center. The Hearts in San Francisco artworks combined with the Heroes & Hearts benefits (2006 - 2010) have raised more than $6 million for the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation.
This year the SFGH Foundation is looking for eight large heart and six table-top heart artists. Anyone interested in
applying to be one of the 2011 artists must complete an application and submit a full-color design rendering 8.5”x11” or larger) on or before Wednesday, August 25, 2010. Artists should live and/or work in the Bay Area and must provide their own workspace that can fit a large heart and be able to meet the artwork completion deadline of Monday, November 1, 2010.
