Last Day in the Studio with Stacy
This was our last day together as SPARK apprentice and teacher. Today was all about preparation for the presentation of Stacy's work during our 8 weeks together. She continued to paint until the last moment so she is preparing the backs of her latest paintings.
Stacy had definite ideas on the placement of the text and paintings and i think her choices were good. I asked her to type up her artist's statement, title, pricelist including that 50% of the proceeds will be going back to SPARK.
All works were priced very reasonably and i hope she/SPARK will make a little money. I ended our last session with a "performance review" - i wanted to give her feedback as well as a summary of the things we did and why we did them.
Please mark your calendars - Tuesday, May 11, 2010, DISCOVERY NIGHT at James Denman Middle School, 241 Oneida Ave, in the Excelsior District from 5:30 - 8:30 pm. Each apprentice will be giving a short presentation of their work and there will be refreshments. If you are interested in becoming an apprentice teacher (aka mentor), this would be a good event to attend to get info on this wonderful program. Would i do this again? Yes, without question!
