Call to Artists San Francisco Bay Area only
2010 Census Cartoon Project • Deadline: February 10, 2010
From El Tecolote
We are looking for Bay Area artists to produce cartoons that address the fears, misconceptions, and general lack of knowledge about the 2010 U.S. Census count. Three to four cartoons will run in El Tecolote and other publications.El Tecolote has a circulation of 10,000 papers and a readership of 30,000 in San Francisco and the East Bay.Participating artists will receive a $250 stipend and will be acknowledged in El Tecolote through an interview that will run in the print edition and/or online at www.eltecolote.org to promote a personal project or exhibition.
Submission Requirements
Open to artists in the Bay Area.
Interested artists must attend an informational meeting with the Accion Latina staff. (See timeline)
Artists must turn is a rough concept piece. (See timeline)
Cartoon can be single or multi cel taking up a total space of 10” wide by 6.5” high.
Cartoon must be Mission District specific.
Cartoon must be either bilingual (Spanish/English) or only in Spanish.
Final cartoons must be submitted as a jpg file 300 dpi in B&W and in color.
