Hosfelt and Braunstein/Quay Galleries

I went to see the work of Arngunnur Yr at Hosfelt Gallery this week and was impressed with her landscape paintings. I thought i was putting down many layers of paint but she adds 100 - 200 layers - no wonder her work shows an amazing luminosity. The work was displayed in a very respectful and elegant way - giving each painting the space it needed, the breathing room that is important for complex works. These images do not capture the work so please go and see them in person.

Also showing was the work of Nelleke Beltjens - unbelievable control and attention to detail. A very exciting artist.

Braunstein/Quay Gallery is next door and is showing the work of Tom Bolles. I couldn't believe how lucky i was to catch two shows that are relevant to my work.
