Carl Pisaturo and Rolf van Widenfelt

A last minute invitation was sent to me to see the work of Rolf van Widenfelt and Carl Pisaturo. I met Rolf when he came to my Open Studio a couple of years ago and we have been in contact ever since. His work, as well as Carl's, is electronic and tech oriented. I didn't know what to expect but once i entered the world of robots, light shows, and interactive art, i knew that it was something special. Rolf's interactive piece was inspired by the act of leaving footprints in wet sand but instead of feet, we placed our hands on this touch sensitive screen. What i like about pieces like this is that it has a communal feel to it. We have the opportunity to interact with others while we explore our touch and the marks we make. Carl Pisaturo's work was amazing. His kinetic sculptures were beautifully constructed and a joy to watch.

My videos do not do his work justice but you get the idea. Also, this first video is sideways...sorry!

This was part of MAPP, Mission Arts and Performance Project. We checked out other exhibits/shows that evening, all within walking distance. A lovely evening of art...
