Heroes and Hearts - Call For Entries

The San FranciscoGeneral Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce a call for entries for its 2010 Hearts in San Francisco public art fundraising project.

Hearts in San Francisco debuted in 2004 as a city-wide public art installation that featured 130 5-foot tall heart sculptures by established and emerging artists. These unique works of art were displayed on sidewalks, plazas, parks and street corners throughout the Bay Area from February – September 2004. At the conclusion of the event, a select number of hearts were sold at auction to benefit the Foundation.

Anyone interested in applying to be one of the 2010 artists must complete an application and submit a fullcolor design rendering (8.5”x11” or larger) on or before Monday, August 10, 2009. Artists should live and/or work in the Bay Area and must provide their own workspace that can fit a large heart and be able to meet the artwork completion deadline of Monday, November 2, 2009.
