Migdalia Valdes

I went to an opening reception for Migdalia Valdes: Every Day in Black and White at the Intersection for the Arts. Migdalia is a photographer who for 10 years, created at least one photograph a day and has committed to do so for the rest of her life. On display were photographs on the wall but also, she had "notebooks" with her photographs, junk food wrappers, bits of detritus, receipts, transfers, to name a few items that were a part of these "sketchbooks" and all arranged on or around furniture painted white. It was beautifully organized.

I went to the show too and loved it! The contactsheets the surround the room looked like a cityscape. Very cool. Its an amazing lifelong project. Very obsessive.
