Control

I sent my submission for the Control Show juried by the Guerilla Girls West. This is work i did while at the SFAI and it is about control or rather the lack of control. We resort to violence when we are out of control. I imagined a domestic scene, someone alone acting out fantasies. For a moment, she is pretending to have a modicum of control by imagining the feel and the weight of her ersatz firearm. She is imaging a confrontation and takes the power position with a weapon, our answer to conflict. It feels sensuous and animal to be in control.
