Kabocha - final

This is the final version of "Kabocha"....this time i mean it. It looks quite different from the March 7th version - deeper in tone.
I've been working on more tree posing paintings but also, revisiting the work i did while i was in Hawaii during my residency at Red Cinder. I am in "research" mode - trying out different ways in which to apply paint. I took photos of this brilliant cherry tree on Noe Street. Trying to capture the colors and the feeling of Spring will be my goals for a future painting.
