FRAUD ALERT - 'Steve Adams'

Another fraud alert from re-title.com. This sort of scam letters have been circulating for quite a while. I actually received a phony cashier's check and posted it on my blog (see March 10, 2008 post). The story is always the same and the wording similarly weird.

This person is going thru re-title.com.
We believe that this person is involved in fraudulent activity such as ID fraud
THIS IS A VERY OBVIOUS FRAUDULENT APPROACH - PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THEM.

First Name: Steve

today I received the same Email. I live in the Netherlands. I'm glad I know it's not worthwile to react. Thanks.
I know not to correspond with this type of letter. They seem to follow the same pattern. When i first received this kind of letter, i did correspond with the person but the answers to my questions were always bizarre, raising suspicions. This scam has been going on for at least 3 years.
