Eco Art Fair
The postmortem on the EcoArt Show: it was well organized and i met some great artists, three of whom have been the artist in residence at the Dump. When i arrived at the Pauley Ballroom at UC Berkeley, i was given the choice of showing my work in the lobby with another artist who required a great deal of room. I went with the lobby although i knew it would be a bit lonely since it would be just the two of us. Many people came by the exhibit and the Japanese students seemed to be the most amused by the "Kamaboko Forest". It was a long day of sitting there (10 am to 4 pm) but i was able to walk around to see the exhibits and to talk to the other artists that were in another room. They provided a nice lunch from Whole Foods.
"Girly Chair"
"Preciousness"
"Kamaboko Forest"
And images of some of the finalists - i misplaced some of their business cards so i cannot identify the artist with the work in some cases. I will update the info if i can find the cards.
Susie Grant, works on paper using a very steady hand
Sudhu Tewari - as you approached the piece, the doll head flips down. Spooky!
An apron made up entirely from plastic bags that have been woven to create this garment by Sandy Drobny. I suggested she try making a mock Chanel suit because the weave looked so much like the fabric of that classic suit.
The work of Peter Miro "Non-Terrestrial Arms"

The beginning of a yellow influenced painting.
