fifth annual fun-a-day in January

This January we will be holding our fifth anniversary Fun-A-Day Project! Guidelines for entry are simple. Create your own project and produce one piece of artwork each day for the entire month of January. Then submit your 31 pieces by early February to be included in our fifth anniversary show. Start thinking creatively now, and post your project ideas below.

Philadelphia: This year's Fun-A-Day show will be held on February 14 at Studio 34 Yoga. Last year's show featured more than fifty artists and was attended by more than 300 people. Let's make this one bigger! Check out photos of last year's entries in our archive and a time lapse video of the Fun-A-Day show by Brad Peniston in our news column. Entries are due by February 7th. Submission details TBA

San Francisco Bay Area: The project hits the west coast with Fun-A-Day in the Bay! Organized by a group of Philly expats and at least one of the Artclash Collective's founding members. Details TBA.

Pittsburgh: Fun-A-Day Pittsburgh is in its second year! From their website: "Pittsburgh winter bumming you out? Don't let it! Here's something to do. Starting January 1st pick a project and do it every day for the month. It doesn't have to be hard, but it should be something to motivate you to stay creative, social and stoked during the cold turn of the new year."

What an excellent idea to get the creative juices going. The practice of working on one thing, focusing on it everyday is a valuable one and often leads to insight into your work or work habits. I could continue making my kamaboko trees but perhaps i should expand myself and work on something completely different.
