Public Art for Petaluma City Building

The City of Petaluma and the Petaluma Public Art Committee (PPAC) are soliciting qualifications for a new public art piece that will be located on the site of the new Petaluma Fire Station located in downtown Petaluma,CA. This is a highly visible project and offers the opportunity for the artist’s work to be integrated into a new city building. The budget for the art is approximately $70,000-$90,000. The primary area of focus for the new art is the proposed 8 foot high by 40 foot long concrete masonry unit (CMU) wall located at the west side of the property that runs all the way up to the property line at Petaluma Blvd. There is interest in the idea that the wall’s art reflect the history and/or story of Petaluma and/or the Petaluma Fire Department. To view the RFQ, architectural drawings, submittal procedures and to download the application checklist please click on the Public Art Committee City’s web link.

RFQ Deadline is August 1, 2008.
