summer study abroad, Florence Italy
Last night at a dinner party, I met Ann Piper, art history professor at Diablo Valley College and she leads a class to Florence, Italy every summer for a month's immersion experience. You take 6 units of credit (3 units of art history from Ann and 3 units at Florence University of Arts). It sounded so awesome what with studying 15th c Renaissance Florence right in Florence and taking either an art class (great selection), or a cooking class but for a complete list, go to http://www.fua.it/ and look at summer session 1. Thr cost is $3,450 which is a lot of money but why not treat yourself with this unique experience? The price includes double occupancy in a shared bedroom in an apartment, welcome and farewell dinners, orientation activities, health insurance, free internet access, Apicius Culinary Institute food and wine pairing, activities in Florence such as walking tours, historical soccer game, and enrollment costs for 6 units. Airfare is not included. And I really liked Ann, she had a great way about her and i could tell i would love her class. Now, i just need to sell a few paintings! Program dates May 29 - June 28 which works well for my schedule. For more info, contact Professor Ann Piper 925-685-1230, x 1573 or apiper@dvc.edu.
