Olivia Brown at Hang

Last night, i attended the art reception for Olivia Brown at Hang Gallery http://www.hangart.com/ a wonderful space in Downtown San Francisco.

the entrance on a wet night

Olivia Brown (on the left) enjoying the positive response to her work. I loved her work and it is a relief to know someone as nice as she is who i can sincerely say does compelling and beautiful work. She uses French enamel to paint with which creates amazing edges in her shapes. The more i looked at her work, the more engaged i became with the depth, her palette, the effects of using this paint.

As you walk into Hang, there is a display of artists' work they represent.

In the back where Olivia's solo show was held, there is a well organized and well lit space and enhanced her work. Good positive energy in this gallery. It was my first visit to Hang and if you ever read my blog, you will notice i usually just go to the stodgy 14, 49 and 77 Geary galleries. Wow, people who worked there made eye contact, and had none of that "i am very busy" attitude.
