I am struck by how different from the original intent this latest painting turned out. My intention was to revisit a small painting i did while studying with Anne Appleby at the San Francisco Art Institute. The major colors were pink, purple, blue and while i started with some of those colors, they veered away to the "fall" colors. I wonder if i was influenced by this beautiful tree found outside my door that positively glowed with the turning leaves. Or because of some painful memories at SFAI that i didn't want to think about the original painting.
