My Open Studios Day 2

Another great day with more families coming through. It is always great to see the moms and dads exposing kids to something like this and there is something wonderful about seeing kids feeling comfortable enough to roam the hallways. And they were a very respectful and well behaved bunch. Recalling the day, i realized if weren't for my Genencor, Rhythm and Motion, and CCSF friends, it would have been a very quiet weekend. I was glad to know that at least some people came out because of the Open Studios Guide Book.

Here are some of the art lovers who came by to the studio but again, i didn't photograph everyone who was nice enough to drop by.

Amber Cummings trying out the rocking chair.

This kid in the Halloween costume her mom made last night loved the rice cracker snacks!

Chris, Sabine, and Amber Cummings

Dudley Flores, Ryan T. Smith, and Wendy Rein - celebrities visiting my studio eventhough there was no red carpet! Dudley of Rhythm & Motion Dance Center http://www.rhythmandmotion.com/, Printz Dance Project http://www.printzdance.org/, RAWdance, Janice Garrett fame (WHEW!) and he's got a very entertaining blog http://www.dflores415.blogspot.com/, and Ryan and Wendy, THE choreographers of RAWdance http://www.rawdance.org/ and extraordinary dancers.

Two very cool and charming art lovers.

Carol Badran, ceramicist, photographer, educator at CCSF, and an R & M dance buddy.

Paul Gorman, one of my museum drawing buddies

my only action photo

George England, art collector, world traveler

Great smiles!

Dr. Laura Enfield, my favorite naturopathic doctor.

Austin Sherer- another one of my dancing buddies from Rhythm and Motion Dance Center.

left to right, Leslie Crawford, Sam, Molly and Steve Fox. Sam was really into all the art and was an astute cookie critic. I think my current work is very hard at first to get into, but Sam, being the precocious young man that he is, got it right away! That rocking chair, by the way, used to be his and was left on the side of the street when i got into painting on discarded furniture. My way of creating new life into old objects.

Wendy Antipa, another museum drawing buddy and old friend from my SFSU graduate school days.

from left to right, Cooper, Lisa Jack, Charlie, and Jeff Smith. Astute art collectors and patrons of the arts.

It was another great day catching up with friends and talking about art. Thanks to all who bought the art and i hope the pieces will bring you much joy.
