Brain fog
I was experiencing brain fog this morning but had enough mental capacity to perform what i needed to do which was to go to the hardware store to buy nails and to Art Span at SomArts to drop off my painting. There was a flurry of activity with artists dropping off works of art; the place looked great. But with over 500 artist participating, it seemed like a lot fewer than 500 pieces of art were displayed.
Back at the studio, finished gessoing and started a new painting beginning with a yellow ochre/cad yellow light ground. I love starting a new painting because it is so full of possibilities. Choosing the next color is really a joyful process and is influenced by the light and the environment. I have to be careful not to wear any loud colors! No images today as i forgot my digital camera.
I also started playing with the Indian inks i purchased Saturday. As usual, i made my ebola shape a recurring image. I really liked the consistency of the ink and the intensity of the colors.
